  • My upcoming Song Cycle (Title TBD) for Rachel Fenlon is now fully funded with grants from the Toronto Arts Council, Ontario Arts Council, and Canada Council for the Arts! Look out for the premiere in the fall of 2021.

  • Arlen Hlusko performs my piece for solo cello and fixed media, Footsteps, at the Tippet Rise Arts Center in Montana. This piece was written for her pandemic commissioning project #septembersolocello. In the spirit of collaboration this piece uses field recordings she made while hiking some of her favourite Ontario trails. Check out this video of her performance at Tippet Rise, it's only a minute long! Footsteps

  • I was selected as one of the Hamilton Philharmonic Orchestra's 2021 Composer Fellows! Along with a commission to compose a concert-opening 5 minute piece for orchestra, I have been participating in a series of career building workshops learning the ins-and-outs of a composer's work with professional orchestras, touching on everything from marketing, meeting with musicians, and connecting with music director Gemma New! My piece, tentatively titled Yangon Connection, is almost complete and will be premiered next season in April 2022.

Upcoming Projects:

Some new pieces are in the works! Look out for:

  • The premiere of my 6 Miniatures for woodwind quintet by the One Found Sound woodwind quintet

  • A new song-cycle for soprano/pianist Rachel Fenlon. She has the amazing ability to sing and accompany herself at the piano... throw some live electronics in the mix and we've got something even more exciting! Oh... and we're writing the text ourselves!

  • A new piece for violinist Emily Botel, and harpist Elizabeth Steiner... again with live electronics. It's going to explore the idea of 'instrumental dance music' with influences ranging from the baroque dance suite, to electronic dance music!

The Universe Within Us for string orchestra (2016/revised 2019)
